Hutt Valley Hospital Palliative Care Services

The team see hospital patients who may require palliative care. They provide advice about patient care, education and support to other healthcare professionals within the hospital as well as supporting doctors and nurses in training. The Hospital Palliative Care Service liaises with Te Omanga Hospice and other hospices if necessary. Some patients are referred to Te Omanga Hospice when they leave the hospital; others have ongoing palliative care needs managed by their GP.
