Learning from our communities
It is very important to Te Omanga Hospice that we know what we’re doing well and what changes we could make to the services we provide to benefit all who engage with us.
The best people to tell us how we are doing are those who use the Hospice’s broad range of services – patients, families, whānau, and the communities we serve.
We are currently close to finalising membership of a Consumer Advisory Group. This independent group will be analysing the feedback we’ve already had, and actively reaching into our communities to get insights into our performance and what we could introduce to meet their needs.
Our vision is that ‘Our communities receive equitable, responsive and proactive palliative care support; by (amongst other actions) engaging with our communities to understand their needs and strengthen the delivery of services that meet these. The Consumer Advisory Group is how we will do that, and it will work collaboratively with the Hospice leadership team to analyse the input and assess what we might change for the benefit of all.
